After being struck by lightning, American private investigator James Frost begins to hear each person's "inner song" and switches careers, tailoring commissioned songs for clients with relationship woes. Upon a chance encounter with Zarah Chandio, renowned Pakistani children’s book author, her "song" causes him to lose his new gift. But because when she is nearby his gift returns, he hires her to be his silent partner. James gets more than he bargained for, however, as Zarah has a tic for blurting out clients’ love life dilemmas in the form of children's fables.

Skiptracer Melodies was created by composer and filmmaker Matthew Fountain whose Portland, Oregon band Matthew Fountain and the Whereabouts has garnered international acclaim.
